What languages does VMtranslator translate?

I translate all types of texts from English to Spanish and, except for literary texts, from Spanish to English too. In addition, I collaborate with a team of freelance translators with other languages as their areas of expertise: German, Dutch, Italian and French. Teaming up allows us to offer our respective clients a comprehensive service whenever he/she needs translations in any of those languages.

Is VMtranslator a translation agency?

No, it isn’t. “VM” stands for Víctor Manteiga, just me. I offer my language services as a freelance linguist. However, if a customer needs their text translated into other languages, the team of linguists I collaborate with will happily contribute with their work. They have their own rates and I don’t charge them any commissions for their work at all. We work as colleagues in a team, not as an agency and their employees.

How can I order a translation?

The procedure is as follows: 1) Request a free quote for your translation by filling in the form which you can find in this website or email me your document; 2) If you agree with the quote and wish to order your translation, fill the Purchase Order. The Purchase Order is all I need to start working on your translation. That easy!

When do I have to pay my translation?

When filling the Purchase Order you will be asked to pay on account a fraction of the total agreed –normally 25%, though it might change depending on the size of the job. I will let you know when your translation is ready and you’ll receive a sample so you can check my work. If you decide everything is fine –as it should be!-, choose your payment method, make the transfer, and you will receive your invoice and your translation in your e-mail inbox or otherwise in the delivery format chosen by you. No complications at all.

How can I pay for my translation?

For the sake of everyone’s convenience, you can choose between two payment methods available: 1) you can pay through PayPal in this very same website, easy and safe; 2) through bank transfer. Payment through PayPal is highly recommended since it is immediate and easy.

Who can I talk to in case I have any queries?

I am a freelance professional, so I manage my own work. Therefore, you will deal with me at all times. I can attend your enquires in either Spanish or English. I’ll gladly attend your calls or your emails.

What type of texts does VMtranslator translate?

All types: academic, technical, personal, commercial, legal, historical, literary, websites… As a philologist I have been trained in literature, linguistics, text typology, translation theory and practice, and so on. As a language teacher I have taught writing skills for a wide variety of text types for years. I am not just someone who speaks languages; I am a professional linguist.
